Beware of Overtraining!

It is important to understand that there is no immediate result; the ideal approach is to adopt a progressive exercise rhythm, increasing it slowly and in accordance with your body's limits.

This overexertion destabilizes the body, leading to various discernible symptoms, particularly when it reaches an extremely detrimental stage. This syndrome has a specific name: 'overtraining'.

Initially diagnosed only in athletes, it can now be observed in anyone, regardless of age or gender. Overtraining can be defined as a condition in which individuals exhibit a low level of performance, despite continuous or even increased training (Maughan, Gleeson, and Greenhaff, 2000).

Key symptoms include cardiovascular acceleration, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, and a compromised immune system. Additionally, various types of muscle injuries can be highlighted as consequences. Due to its insidious nature and the severity it can represent when clinically manifested, it is considered the "cancer" of sports practice (Matsudo, 2002).
